Welcome U12 Parents to a ringette season like no other! Lots of changes, lots of new rules (ugh), but still tons of fun to look forward to in our upcoming 2020 Ringette Adventure!
Please, when you are feeling a bit frustrated, take a deep breath and remember that all of these rules and procedures have been put in place so that our kids could continue to participate in this awesome sport. This year, more than ever we are going to need parents to band together to find novel ways to make the season amazing for our athlete's, both on and off the ice.
Below is some preliminary info on U12 Evaluations which will be starting on September 12,2020.
Evaluations will commence with Universal Athlete Assessments (UAA's) on:
Scrimmages will be scheduled the following week.
Groupings and specific times for UAA's will be posted prior to the skates. Once UAAs are complete, skate groups for scrimmages will be formed. Skate groups for scrimmages will not change throughout evaluations as there will be no cross over or movement from group to group as was the case in past years. This is part of the safety measures being taken for this season.
Specific evaluation information will be posted under the Evaluation tab on the SGRA website in the upcoming days. This Evaluation Plan Amendment is for the 2020-2021 season only and is adapted from our standard Evaluation handbook as it takes into consideration RAB, BGL and AHS guidelines.
IMPORTANT: Players are to come fully dressed (with the exception of helmet, skates and gloves) and are to arrive at the facility no more than 15 minutes prior to skate times. Goalies may get dressed at the facility. If this changes, we will notify you ahead of time. Players can enter the facility and proceed to the check-in table but MUST MAINTAIN PHYSICAL DISTANCE from other players lined up to check-in. Should you see many players in line, please stand back or wait outside until there is sufficient space. Volunteers will be there to assist players. Should spectators be allowed in the facility, we ask that parents do not enter until after check-ins are complete and only after the evaluation start time. Please talk to your athletes about maintaining physical distancing prior to evaluations.

Evaluation Inquiries
Additional important information regarding player inquiries has been amended in the SGRA Team Formation Policy. The following is an excerpt that parents should be advised of:
4.0 TEAM ASSIGNMENTS
When evaluations are complete, players will be assigned to a level within a division and a team within that level. These placements are final. Players (or their parents) wanting information regarding their own (or childs) evaluation(s) and/or placement (UAA Score or Team Average Score) must be submitted in writing to the Division Director. Neither players nor their parents are permitted to inquire about the evaluation(s), standings or placement of other players. Requests may be submitted to the Division Director at the conclusion of the Team Formation process and will be responded to within (30) days of the request date. Inquiries submitted prior to the conclusion of Team Formation will not be responded to.
Please ensure you check for updates on the SGRA website (www.sprucegroveringette.com), including the U12Division page. I will endeavor to send out updates and information as they become available and will be your first point of contact for all questions within the U12 Division throughout the season.
Thanks for reading through to then end, and see you at the rink.
