As the curtain closes on the 2016/2017 ringette season I have a couple of housekeeping notes and shout outs:

Housekeeping Notes:

Seed checks - please deposit your seed checks as soon as possible. Chantal and I would like to close the bank account before the end of March. We did not budget for April bank fees. If you have any questions about the team financial spreadsheet please contact Chantal McKenzie.

Feedback - if you have any feedback about the season: good, bad or otherwise please contact myself or Trevor. It's a good time to reflect on your daughter's season and provide any suggestions to make next season that much better.

Shout Outs and Thank Yous:

To the Players - Thank You for giving 100% effort! It was a pleasure to watch Team Thunder develop and gel together as a team. After 30 games and 30+ practices - feel proud about your team and your personal accomplishments this season.

To the Coaching Staff: Trevor, Greg, Fenna, Candice, and Megan - Thank you each for dedicating your time and energy to these young ringette players. The impact you have made on these players has created memories that will last a lifetime.

To Adam, Stu, and Roger - Thank You for helping out the girls on the ice. This helps out the coaches and provides better player development.

To the McKenzieâ€™s - Thank you Chantal for volunteering as our treasurer and keeping our team finances in check. Thank you for hosting the Sweetheart Tournament Social.

To Nadean C. - Thank you for taking on the fundraising role this season. I know you invested a lot of time and effort into our team's fundraising activities, because of this we were able to provide seed money refunds and 4 players have a credit for next year.

To the Pennoâ€™s - Tina and Adam, Thank You for organizing our tournaments. Tournaments are a huge part of the season, the girls had a great time in St. Albert, Red Deer and, of course, the Sweetheart Tournament.

To Kim N. and Melodie - Thank You for organizing the socials this season. The memories the girls will remember the most are the ones that occur off ice. Friendships were formed and fun was had by all.

To Melodie and Gavin - Thank You for opening your home and hosting 2 team get-togethers.

To Candice and Kim A. - Thank You for representing our team on the Sweetheart Tournament Committee. This is a behind the scenes role that is not seen by the team families throughout the season. On behalf of our team, Thank You for attending all of the meetings and organizing the tournament.

To Stu and Candice - Thank You for providing music and announcements throughout the games. The girls absolutely loved when you were in the box. Not only did they feel like superstar ringette players, you brought out the inner rock star in each of them. Best wishes to you guys as you start the next chapter of your life in Vancouver.

To Sheila - Thank You for taking care of the jerseys this season. Thank you for knitting the hats for the girls! Very thoughtful and appreciated! You are super fan and we wish relief from your back pain this year.

To Megan Y. - Thank You for scheduling the minor officials and figuring out who needs to be where and when. Thank You Matt, Nadean, Adam and Roger for always filling in when we needed a minor official.

To all of Team Thunder Families - It was a pleasure to watch your players this season, Thank You for your commitment to your daughterâ€™s team. Endless hours of driving and hanging out at the rink. It was a smooth season, no team drama, and many friendships were formed. I apologize if I have missed acknowledging someone for their efforts. To have a successful season, it takes the commitment of 15 families. Although the scoreboard may not have been in our favor, I believe this season was a success!
