**ACTION: BRING CASH OR A BLANK CHEQUE TO PRACTICE TOMORROW OR TUESDAY

24hr rule, any issues with team staff are to be given 24 hours before they are brought up.

Any issues are to follow the process outlined in the parent handbook.

Practices - Please arrive 30 minutes before and be ready to be on the ice at the start of practice.

  • Ice team is expensive, we need to use it the best we can

Please encourage your kids to dress themselves, we are a big team and dressing rooms are small so please limit the amount of people in the dressing room.

Games - Please arrive in the dressing room 1 hour before game time.

  • First 30 mins, warm up
  • Second 20 mins getting dressed
  • Last 10 mins Coaches prep for game with team
  • Players need runners

Dressing room - no skin. If someone needs to change clothes please use a bathroom.

RAMP app - we will be using the RAMP app for communication.

**ACTION: PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE RAMP APP AND USE IT TO INDICATE WHETHER YOUR CHILD WILL/WILL NOT BE ATTENDING GAMES/PRACTICES/EVENTS.

DO NOT PAY YOUR KIDS FOR SCORING GOALS.

Water only in the dressing room or bench, no Gatorade powerade or anything like that.

Parent conduct in the stands:

  • No coaching from the stands
  • The team is doing what we have taught them, it can be confusing for them if they get mixed messages
  • Positive cheering please

Dryland training- we will take what we can get.

Tournaments - Spruce Grove Sweetheart Tournament (Feb. 15-18), plus one local and one away. We will be applying to lots of tournaments and make our decision based on which tournaments we get accepted into.

Our goal for our team is to have all of the players to develop and show growth.

Goalies - everyone will get a chance to play net.  We are mandated to rotate goalies.

  • We will not make a player play net if they are not comfortable doing it
  • The players must have tried goalie in practice before we will let them play net in a game

Positions, we will do our best to have every player play every position.

  • Center is a reward for understanding of the game

Players are expected to pay attention during games and practice.

The players need to put a full effort in. Everyone is at a different skating level and that doesn’t matter - all that matters is that they each give it their best effort.

Coaches will award one player with a Heart & Hustle award after every game, not necessarily the best player but a player that has demonstrated growth or progress.

The players will be learning more advanced ringette techniques than they did last year, ie: triangle, break outs, W formation.

Games will have an even rotation of players. The last 2 minutes of a tournament game we may play a power line but that will be it.

Jerseys will be handed out tomorrow (Sunday). We have limited sizes, choices will be offered if possible.

Players will vote on a team name tomorrow.

**ACTION: PLAYERS ARE ASKED TO BRING A PAPER WITH THEIR CHOICE OF TEAM NAME ON IT TOMORROW.

Apparel: Full sleeve personalized green SGRA warm up shirts are going to be ordered for the team and paid for with seed money. Shirts are $17 each plus a name on the back will be an additional $15 plus tax.

Every player MUST have SGRA league pants. If your child does not have them please order online ASAP.

**ACTION: TEAM SPONSORSHIP: IF YOU  HAVE ACCESS TO SPONSORSHIP FUNDS PLEASE LET US KNOW ASAP.

A motion was made to have Tiffanie Hutnan, team treasurer, and Nicole Klassen, team manager, open a team bank account. Motion was seconded by Chantal Jackson and Alison Church.

Team photos will be taken on Tuesday. The schedule should be released shortly.

That’s all for now! Future emails should not be this long!

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact myself or the coaches.
