2023-24 Ringette Season
Welcome U14 Families to the 2023/24 Ringette Season,
Hopefully everyone is getting excited about this season. For those who don't know me my name is Vicki Colameco and I will be U14 direction again for this season. I have volunteered in different capacities over the years and this will be my second year as division director. I am looking forward to helping everyone have a fun and successful season.
EVALUATIONS - This year SGRA has hired Sports Evaluations Ltd. again who will be responsible for the entire evaluation process. As such the evaluation guide has been updated and I strongly encourage you to review this guide in it's entirety prior to evaluations. After each skate families will be emailed (please check junk folder) with details of their player's next skate. Families will NOT receive rating or scores. U14 AA evaluations are scheduled to start on August 28 and the remaining evaluations will start after the long weekend. The schedule will be posted and updated on the website so please check frequently and stay tuned to SGRA's social media pages.
Also new this year families will be need to submit their Jersey, Fundraising, Bingo cheques prior to their player attending their first evaluation. As always Jerseys will be 2 undated $150 cheques (not required for AA tryouts), Fundraising will be one undated cheque for $200 (this will be cashed after coupon book sales have ended) and one $200 cheque undated for BINGO requirement. I will collecting these cheques at your players first evaluation skate please ensure you have this with you.
August 28/23 - Goalie Evaluation - ALL GOALIES ATTEND - 5:15 - 6:15 PM - TLC-S
AA EVALUATIONS - as many of you are aware the AA program has changed this year. If your player is trying out for AA it is essential you have read the new AA website and aware of the commitment/expectations etc. The AA evaluations are as follows:
August 28/23 - UAA PRACTICE AA ONLY - TLC - S (4:00 - 5:00 PM)
August 29/23 - UAA - U14AA ONLY - TLC-S (4:00 - 5:00 PM)
August 30/23 - Game # 1 U14AA ONLY - TLC-S (4:00 - 5:00 PM)
August 31/23 - Game # 2 U14AA ONLY - TLC-S (4:00 - 5:00 PM)
September 1/23 - Game # 3 (scrimmage against St.Albert U14AA) U14AA ONLY - Kinex Arena, St Albert (5:15 - 6:30 PM)
September 2/23 - Game # 4 (If needed) U14AA ONLY - TLC-N (8:30 - 9:30 AM)
PLAYER POSITIONS - Please update RAMP with your players preferred position to ensure it is correct before evaluations start. If you are unable to update on RAMP please email me.
VOLUNTEER - No successful season can run without an abundance of volunteers please be prepared I will be asking for or assigning volunteers for all evaluation skates. I will be sending for volunteers once the schedule has been released and I have specific times/groups/locations.
Lastly, I will endeavour to keep everyone updated as far as scheduling etc goes however, please continue to check the website regularly. I look forward to seeing/meeting you all at the rink.
