Welcome! SGRA is excited about the 2025/26 season.
For those who do not know me, my name is Kelly Lang, and I will be your U19 director for the next season. I have a daughter entering her 8th season at U16 and another daughter entering her second seasons at U12. I have volunteered with SGRA in various coaching, team support roles and this is my third year as a director. I am eager to answer any question and grow the sport of ringette within our community. Furthermore, I am looking forward to working alongside everyone to ensure a positive, fun and successful season.
SGRA believes in fairness and transparency in our processes and policies. We strive to have open, honest and respectful communication and I ask that if you have any questions or concerns, please remember that during the season your first line of contact will be the team manager, who will then notify me, the U19 Director, of any concerns. Keep in mind, SGRA strongly encourages the “24 hrs rule†be adhered to prior to raising any concerns. AA EVALUATIONS
If your player is interested in trying out for AA, evaluations will take place August 25 through August 29, 2025. Once the U19AA team is selected, those players not selected will be required to attend the remaining U19 evaluation skates to be placed. All players will be evaluated through 4 equally weighted scrimmages. See SGRA Evaluation homepage for all up to date scheduling
At the request of the AA Head Coach all AA players are required to completed the following question prior to tryouts via Google Forms:
EVALUATIONS
This year SGRA has hired Sports Evaluations Ltd. who will be responsible for the entire evaluation process. As such, the Evaluation Guide and Evaluation Criteria has been updated and I strongly encourage you to review this guide in its entirety. After each skate, families will be emailed (please check your junk folder) with details of their player's next evaluation skate. Families will NOT receive ratings or scores. U19 evaluations will be scheduled for after the September long weekend. Please refer to the SGRA Evaluation Homepage and the U19 Home Page to stay tuned for future dates and times.
PLAYER POSITIONS
For U19, the top 60% of skaters will be protected and the AA coach will be allowed to select the remaining 40% for the roster. Once the AA coach selections have been completed and AA roster announced, the A, B or C coach will follow the same process as mentioned above. MANDATORY CHEQUES
***CHEQUES WILL BE PROVIDED TO TEAM MANAGER WHEN YOUR PLAYER IS PLACED AND WILL NOT BE COLLECTED AT EVALUATIONS***
SGRA is requesting each player to have 3 UNDATED cheques payable to SGRA for the below mentioned mandatory items.
- BINGO DEPOSIT: You will be required to provide (1) UNDATED Bingo deposit cheque in the amount of $200.00, payable to SGRA excluding Head Coaches, Managers and SGRA Voting Directors. This deposit will not be cashed if your one mandatory bingo shift requirement per family is fulfilled before May 5, 2024.
- JERSEY DEPOSIT: You will be required to provide (2) UNDATED Jersey deposit cheques in the amount of $150.00 each, payable to SGRA. These deposits will not be cashed if the jerseys are returned without damage.Jerseys will be 2 undated $150 cheques (not required for U19AA)
SGRA Members who fail to provide Team Manager with Mandatory Cheques by September 30, 2024 will be subject to SGRA disciplinary action.

VOLUNTEERS
No successful season can run without an abundance of volunteers. A volunteer sheet has been posted via 2025/26 SGRA U19AA Riot Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet to the U19AA Home page for all U19AA evaluations. Please be prepared for future volunteer requests for remaining U19 evaluation skates once dates, times, groupings and locations have been determined.
