Welcome to the 2021/2022 Season!
For those who may not know me, my name is Robin Pedlar, and I will be your U14 Division Director for this upcoming season. My family has been a part of SGRA since 2010/11 and I have been active on the Board in various capacities throughout the years. I am looking forward to assisting and providing guidance to the U14 Division this upcoming season and excited to see everyone back at the rinks and on the ice.
Below is some preliminary info on U14 Evaluations, including AA Tryouts.
CONDITIONING SKATES
You asked and we listened! Conditioning skates have been added to the schedule for this season. These skates are completely OPTIONAL. There are 2 skates for the U14 division. I will be dividing the players into groups to reduce the number of skaters on the ice for safety reasons. You may only attend your designated skate date/time. Groups will be posted soon.

5:00pm - 6:00pm - U14 Group 1
6:15pm - 7:15pm - U14 Group 2
EVALUATIONS
Updated evaluation information will be posted soon under the Evaluations tab on the SGRA website. I recommend all parents read this guide.
UAA:
- PRACTICE UAA Group #1 Wednesday, September 8th at 5:00pm - 6:00pm @ Stu Barnes
- PRACTICE UAA Group #2 Wednesday, September 8th at 6:15pm - 7:15pm @ Stu Barnes
- PRACTICE UAA Group #3 Thursday, September 9th at 7:30pm - 8:30pm @ TLC-S
- UAA TESTING Group #1 Saturday, September 11th at 9:30am - 10:30am @ Stu Barnes
- UAA TESTING Group #2 Saturday, September 11th at 10:45am - 12:00pm @ Stu Barnes
- UAA TESTING Group #3 Saturday, September 11th at 12:15pm - 1:30pm @ Stu Barnes
AA Tryouts:

Remaining tryouts will continue in Week #2 of Evaluations. I will send additional messages and post times when available.
Non-AA Evaluations:
All athletes not trying out for AA, evaluations will commence after the AA evaluations conclude.
EVALUATION INQUIRIES
Additional important information regarding player inquiries has been amended in the SGRA Team Formation Policy . The following is an excerpt that parents should be advised of:
4.0 TEAM ASSIGNMENTS
When evaluations are complete, players will be assigned to a level within a division and a team within that level. These placements are final. Players (or their parents) wanting information regarding their own (or child’s) evaluation(s) and/or placement (UAA Score or Team Average Score) must be submitted in writing to the Division Director. Neither players nor their parents are permitted to inquire about the evaluation(s), standings or placement of other players. Requests may be submitted to the Division Director at the conclusion of the Team Formation process and will be responded to within (30) days of the request date. Inquiries submitted prior to the conclusion of Team Formation will not be responded to.
VOLUNTEERS
I will be looking for 6 volunteers for each scrimmage ice time for benches, registration desk, and scoreboard. Please note that bench volunteers will be placed on the opposite bench to where your daughter will be playing on. Please contact me if you can volunteer. It takes a village so thank you in advance!
Please ensure to check both the U14 Division page as well as the Schedules and Evaluations pages regularly for updates. I will endeavour to send out information as it becomes available. Again, as a friendly reminder, Board members are volunteers giving their time and energy to make this season happen. Please be mindful of this when you have questions or concerns.
Lastly, I believe in fairness and transparency, which can be accomplished through open, honest and respectful communication. I will be your first point of contact for all inquiries within the U14 Division throughout both evaluations as well as the season and will always be more than happy to assist and listen.
